Kate Vincent

Violist Kate Vincent is originally from Perth, Western Australia. In 2009 she moved West from Boston where she was the Artistic/Executive Director of the Firebird Ensemble and on faculty at The Longy School of Music of Bard College. In addition Ms. Vincent was Principal or Associate Principal Violist with ensembles such as Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Opera Boston, Emmanuel Music, Opera Aperta and Opera Unlimited. Ms. Vincent has also appeared as a guest artist in chamber music with Apple Hill Chamber Players, Alea 3, Chameleon Ensemble, Callithumpian Consort, Dinosaur Annex, Winsor Music and the Fromm Foundation players at Harvard. She has also toured extensively throughout Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, Russia and the United States.

Since moving to Los Angeles she has performed with Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Eclipse Quartet, on the Dilijan Chamber Music Series and on the Monday Evening Concert Series. In a recent recording of Donald Crockett’s Viola Concerto (BMOP sound) her solo playing was described as having “vivid color and palpable verve” (Fanfare Magazine).
